Andrew, having volunteered over many years at 20+ training hours + rescue hours + on-call 24/7, runs a team of volunteers who rescue people on the Glass House Mountains. In the past year, there were 100 plus calls from people who had found themselves in trouble on the mountains. Andrew consistently monitors the capability of his team through weekly skills maintenance, improvements in rescue techniques and coordination with QLD Fire and Rescue to keep his team at the forefront of mountain rescue operations. Andrew not only focuses on his team’s rescue capability but also their health and well-being and has been a great mentor to many Glasshouse Mountains SES and other SES members around the Sunshine Coast and abroad.
Congratulations Andrew on the good volunteering you do, thank you!
